Woody Green, an Irish man who lived in London, and is now based in Brighton, began his musical life as a folk troubadour in the tradition of Nick Drake. His sound is still based on “Pink Island”, but now with the backing of a full-band is far more expansive, and at times very acid-tinged and trippy. The self-titled debut album, produced by Go Kurosawa of Kikagaku Moyo, was released in the summer. This show will mark this line-up’s London debut.
Deejay special guest Will Hodgkinson may write for The Times, but he’s also just published a fab book on the daffy side of the ’70s that we all secretly adore. ‘In Perfect Harmony: Singalong Pop in ’70s Britain’ is a lot of fun, as are a of Will’s previous books. Check them out! Resident DJ, and night head honcho, Jon ‘Mojo’ Mills will drop his usual bangers, along with some carefully selected mellower moments too.
Cosmic jesters ahoy!
